Vision Credit Union named one of Alberta's Top 70 Employers for the second year in a row

Vision Credit Union has been named one of Alberta's Top 70 Employers for the second year in a row, by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, a joint venture publication of Postmedia Network and Mediacorp Canada.

Alberta's Top 70 Employers are those that have lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. They are evaluated based on the physical workplace, work and social atmosphere, financial and family benefits, vacation and time off, employee communications, performance management, training and skills development, and community involvement. They are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

The designation is one in which Vision Credit Union takes great pride, and will continue to strive to achieve.

Vision Credit Union wins Credit Union of the Year

Vision Credit Union was named Credit Union of the Year at the Alberta Central Annual General Meeting in Edmonton April 13 to 15.

The Credit Union of the Year award is presented to a credit union in Alberta for outstanding performance, community support, and system leadership and collaboration, all traits which Vision Credit Union showed in abundance in 2015. In addition to having the best loan and deposit growth of all 27 credit unions in Alberta, we had the best ROA growth and best long term performance.

The Credit Union of the Year recognition is very special considering that Vision Credit Union is still less than two years old, having been formed with the merger of Battle River Credit Union and Caisse Horizon Credit Union in May 2014.

Credit Unions win First in Overall Customer Service Excellence

For the eleventh consecutive year, Canadians ranked credit unions first in overall Customer Service Excellence, among all financial institutions, surpassing all Canadian banks in Ipsos' (formerly Synovate) annual Best Banking Awards. Credit unions also took sole honours in two other categories: Values My Business and Branch Service Excellence.

Survey results show that credit unions also tied for first in the following categories among all financial institutions: Products & Services Excellence, Financial Planning & Advice, ATM Banking Excellence, Online Banking Excellene, Automated Telephone Banking Excellence and Live Agent Telephone Banking Excellence.

Important Notice for Gold Global Payment MasterCard Cardholders

• Effective September 1, 2015, you will see important changes to your Inclusive Travel Medical Insurance Certificate on your Gold GLOBAL PAYMENT™ MasterCard® card.
• As of the Effective Date, the underwriter of your plan will be changing from Allianz Global Risks US Insurance Company (Canadian Branch), to TD Life Insurance Company. The new Master Group Insurance Policy No. is TI003. Allianz Global Assistance will remain the administrator for claims and assistance services, and you can continue to use existing contact information located in your Insurance Certificate for all questions related to your insurance coverage, including filing a claim or for additional coverage.
• As of the Effective Date, the maximum Coverage Period in your Insurance Certificate will be reduced from the first 31 days of each Trip to the first 15 days of each Trip. As a result, the following changes will take effect to your Insurance Certificate:
o All references to ‘31’ days are deleted and replaced with ‘15’ days;
o Section 5.1, the first bullet point under the Coverage Period heading, is deleted and replaced with:
“ at 12:01 a.m. on the 16th day (including Your Departure Date) after You depart on a Trip; or ”
• Please remember that your Departure Date and your Return Date are both counted and included as separate days when determining the Trip length. For Trips of a longer duration, you may be eligible to purchase an extension to your coverage. This additional coverage may require the completion of a medical questionnaire. Please call the administrator for additional details.
• Please be assured that we are committed to offering you the finest service possible and that your inclusive coverage will continue up to and including age 74 with coverage up to $2,000,000.
